We launched our allergen testing service to make testing food supplements for common allergens accessible to everyone.

Even if the brand/manufacturer declares that they don’t allow the use/presence of allergens in their production process – our allergen testing can offer additional peace-of-mind prior to incorporating a new supplement into your regime, especially if your allergy is a severe one.

Our food supplement allergen testing uses the ELISA method (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) which detects the allergen protein molecule by binding antibodies to the allergen. It’s the industry-leading, most reliable, and most common way to discover the presence of food allergens.

ACCREDITATION

If your test is for commercial purposes ie for the purpose of gaining an accreditation mark for your product, and is not a consumer order, please ensure you purchase through the product listing marked ‘Accredited’ and not through this product listing.

This product listing is for non-accredited testing – primarily for consumers wanting to test the food supplements that they consume (or intend to consume), for retesting purposes (where supplements have attained accreditation in prior years), or ad-hoc commercial testing where accreditation is not wanted/required.

LEADTIME

Order leadtime is 7-10 business days from sample arrival at our laboratory.

TESTING LIMITATIONS

Allergen contamination can occur for a number of reasons, and the source of contamination can vary. So, whilst we’re confident in our allergen testing when it comes to confirming the safety of a specific batch of food supplement – receiving a ‘pass’ on one test instance, does not in any way guarantee that allergen contamination will not occur on other batches of the same brand/product.

Even more so, a ‘pass’ result doesn’t even fully protect against contamination occurring in a separate pack from the same batch – if, for example, contamination occurred during the process of final packing, and only certain packs within a full batch were affected.

So, in effect, receiving a ‘pass’ in an allergen test should be taken more as a potential signal of good brand/manufacturer quality control, but never as a 100% confidence signal that allergen contamination will NEVER occur on this brand/product.

DELIVERY OF RESULTS

Results are delivered in digital format only, via detailed PDF reports displaying raw data alongside commentary to translate the raw data into more easily understandable terms, and to explain test parameters/methodology used.

This will be delivered directly to the email address that you submit upon placing your order.

Since this is a test not linked to an accreditation process, a summary version of the test results will also be published publicly in our results database, and shared with our email subscribers.
